Mysuru: Former Minister and Narasimharaja MLA Tanveer Sait said, he won’t interfere in the Police action against the suspects arrested in the recent incident at Udayagiri, but will appeal to the Police not to trouble innocents in the name of Investigation.
Speaking to media persons, Sait, who welcomed the peace meeting convened by the city Police on Wednesday, to foster peace ahead of Shab-E-Barat festival, said that, he will not meddle with the Police probe, but was concerned about the parents of the suspects arrested by the Police, who will be naturally worried at this stage.
Clarrifying that he was not aware of the details of the suspects, Sait however said, the Police should get into the core of the derogatory meme that was posted on social media, that triggered the sporadic incidents.
Also, the reasons behind the delay in filing the First Information Report (FIR), after receiving the complaint, should be probed.
Sait reiterared his demand for setting up another Police station, to decongest the overburdened Udayagiri Station.
Sait said, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar will be visiting the city to review the situation.
