Mysuru: Two rat snakes were rescued from Vagdhevi Nagar in T K Layout in the city on Saturday.
They were spotted in a drain in front of the house of one Ravindra, near Bisilu Maramma temple.
According to Snake rescuer Suryakeerthi, the snakes, both male, usually fight for the supremacy and territory. The winner among them will mate with the female.
The two snakes were also male by gender. Usually people mistake such sightings for the mating between the two.
In such a case, the opposite sex among reptiles don’t mate in open.
Most importantly, the snakes mate with the same species, as people often mistake them for different species, especially cobra.
Of late, I have been receiving calls about the rat snakes in fight, added Suryakeerthi.
Call Suryakeerthi on- 7022042028.
