Two Forest personnel drown in Kabini backwaters

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, two forest personnel drowned as their boat toppled while fishing at Kabini backwaters in Gundre forest range on Saturday.
There were four personnel when the tragedy struck. While the two swam back to safety, the other two drowned. They have been identified as Mahesh and Shivakumar.
While Shivakumar’s body was recovered, search is still on to fish out Mahesh’s body.
It is said that they had gone to fishing on the instructions of their senior officials.
Police and forest staff have rushed to the spot.
A complaint has been registered at Beechanhalli police station. station.
