Two-day State-level multi-fest ‘Sathgamaya – 2023’ concludes at Amrita

Mysuru: A two-day State-level multi-fest ‘Sathgamaya – 2023’ showcased talents from various colleges across the State at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru recently. The fest was held from May 25 to May 26 at the Vidyapeetham premises, Bogadi.

Inaugurating the fest, famed voice over artiste or the voice behind the ‘Bigg Boss’, Badekkila Pradeep shed light on the essence of the term ‘Sathgamaya,’ emphasizing its relevance in our lives. He expressed that the word represents the journey of self-transformation and personal growth. “It is signifies our constant endeavour to evolve and navigate through the different aspects of life,” he observed. Speaking on competition and winning, he said that while winning is undoubtedly an important goal, it should not come at the expense of others’ defeat, stressing on fair play, sportsmanship, and collaboration.

Students from various colleges took part in the fest and won prizes in uniquely designed competitions like ‘Brainzee’, ‘Capture the Flag’, ‘Best Team Management’, ‘The Capital Carnival’, ‘Business Plan Event’, ‘Reel Making’, ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’, ‘Mock Press’, ‘Duo Diction’, ‘Divya Patanam’, ‘Basket Ball’, ‘Quirky Bitz’, ‘Rytham Kadam Drutham’ (Solo / Group) and ‘Science Jeopardy’ organised under the departments of Computer Science, Management and Commerce, Visual Communication, Sciences, Languages and Physical Education.

Students were enthralled by a live music band performance by “Alaap”, a students’ music club of Amrita. Besides, food stalls and fun-filled games were the major highlights of the fest.

Budding dancers showcased their talent at a competition organised by “Dancers Dynasty”, the institution’s dance club. A unique ramp walk, ‘Fashionista’ added a touch of colour to ‘Sathgamaya 2023’.

Around 400 students from more than 35 colleges across the state participated in various events.

B. N. Vijayakumar, Managing Director (MD) of the Mysore District Co-operative Milk Producers Societies Union Ltd., Mysuru, was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. He presented awards to winners of various competitions. Ms. Amritha Suresh and Ms. Abhirami Suresh, lead vocalists from the band, ‘Amrutham Gamay’ graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour and entertained the audience with their music performance.

SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Mysuru won the overall championship.

Br. Anantananda Chaithanya, Director; Br. Muktidamriuta Chaithanya, Correspondent; Dr. G. Ravindranath, Principal, Amrita Mysuru; Prof. Shekhar Babu, Associate Dean, Dr. Rekha Bhat, Academic Coordinator and others were present.
