Two cops killed after jeep rams tree in K R Nagar

Mysuru: Two police personnel were killed after their jeep rammed a roadside tree near Siddana Koppal gate in K R Nagar taluk on the wee hours of Thursday.
ASI Murthy (58) and head constable Shantha Kumar (44) attached to K R Nagar police station are the deceased two.
The incident occurred at around 1.30 am when the duo were on night patrolling. They were returning to K R Nagar after covering Bherya, Saligrama and Chunchanakatte when the tragedy struck.
Though attempts were made to rush the severely injured two to K R Nagar general hospital, they succumbed enroute hospital.
Murthy a native of Navilur in Chamarajanagar district leaves behind wife and two sons. Shanthakumar of Bettadapura leaves behind wife, daughter and a son.
SP C B Ryshyanth, CPI P K Raju and SI Chetan visited the spot.
