Two arrested for hunting deer at Nagarahole forest

Mysuru: As the State is under lockdown mode, poachers are unlocking themselves in the wild.
Forest personnel arrested two on the charges of poaching a deer calf at Nagarahole National Park.
The accused are identified as K Preetham and A Robin Thimmaiah, residents of Birunani and Nadagarakeri in Kodagu. A carcass of deer calf and car are seized from them.
The arrested along with four others, who are currently at large, had allegedly shot the deer to death. They had entered the forest in two cars on Monday wee hours.
The forest personnel who traced the sound of bullets, succeeded in apprehending two of the poachers.
DyRFO Kantharaj, Forest Guard Badesaab, Forest Watcher Chikkamada and driver Abhishek took part in the operation to nab poachers.
A case has been registered under Wildlife Conservation Act.
