TVS Motor Company leads battle against COVID-19 with dedicated efforts for employees, community in Mysuru

Mysuru: TVS Motor Company, along with Sundaram-Clayton Limited, through their social arm, Srinivasan Services Trust, has undertaken comprehensive measures in and around TVS Motor Company’s factory premises and villages in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts, based on guidance received from government authorities to help prevent the spread of the second wave of COVID-19.
The company contributed Rs one crore towards Karnataka Chief Minister’s relief fund-COVID-19. Additionally, 300 oxygen concentrators, essential medical supplies and equipments worth Rs three crore were also donated to the Government of Karnataka.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa received the cheque, oxygen concentrators, essential medical supplies and equipment. This includes the relief materials provided to 32 Primary Health Centres and 10 COVID-19 Care Centres, including 135 oxygen concentrators were handed over to Mysuru and Chamarajanagar district administration.
As India battles the deadly second wave of the pandemic, TVS Motor Company and its group companies have implemented several proactive measures to address the safety of the workforce as outlined below:
Regular flow of communication to all employees on COVID-19 appropriate behaviour along with relevant updates
Double masking has been made compulsory across the workplace provided employees with protective face masks and hand sanitizers
To help boost immunity, employees have been given Multivitamins, Vitamin C supplements and Kabasura Kudinneer (traditional formulation used by Siddha practitioners for effectively managing common respiratory health)
Vaccinated all employees above 45 years in Phase I. Employees in the age group of 18 to 44 years are now being vaccinated in Phase II in collaboration with various hospitals and PHCs.
Employees who are single have been provided with food packets after the shift towards avoiding venturing out for meals. They have also been provided with all three meals on weekends.
To benefit employees who are in quarantine, the company is maintaining an Isolation Camp with all necessary medical and food facilities.
Recently launched an exclusive employee connect dashboard TVS-ICE (In Case of Emergency) App, an emergency response mechanism for employees and their families in need of health, hospitalisation, home care, general medical support, insurance, pregnancy, and miscellaneous support.
Have set up a 24/7 ambulance service with oxygen for employees in Mysuru. These ambulances are equipped with essential medical facilities for the immediate treatment of patients with mild COVID-19 symptoms.
Have tied-up with leading hospitals to provide end-to-end homecare facility to employees in home isolation for further support.
The Group Corona Mediclaim insurance policy of Rs one lakh has been extended to all employees. The company has also facilitated assistance to employees to avail the same for the dependents.
In case of an unfortunate eventuality, the company is stepping in to ensure that the bereaved family is provided with a complete support system to help them cope with the loss and grief.
As an immediate relief on the monetary front, the company provides compensation as ex-gratia to the legal heir of the deceased employee. The ex-gratia is in addition to the standard Company Family Welfare Fund and other statuary benefits applicable to families of deceased.
