Mysuru: The city traffic police succeeded in collecting fine to the tune of Rs 1.73 lakh from 1,109 offenders.
These are the offenders who had refrained themselves from paying the fine amount despite serving a notice on them through post.
According to a press release from police commissioner’s office, a special drive was conducted in VV Puram Traffic limits on December 30. During the drive police detected the cases where the offenders were not coming forth to pay the fine. The violations were related to- helmet, using cell phones while riding the vehicle, carrying excess people on a two- wheeler, signal jump and other types of violations.
Hence, those offenders who have already received notice through post should voluntarily pay the fine during free hours and avoid inconvenience to public during the inspection drive, instructed Police Commissioner K T Balakrishna.
