Tourists, avoid visiting Mysore Palace on these dates

Mysuru: With Nadahabba Mysore Dasara just a few days away, the Mysore Palace will be closed for tourists due to rituals associated with the annual Navarathri celebration.

According to a press release issued by the Mysore Palace Board Executive Officer, in view of Mysore Royal family’s Sharannavarathri celebration and also assembling of golden throne, the Palace will be closed for tourists on October 9.

Also, on October 15 tourists will not be allowed to visit Palace in view of Dasara Navarathri Durbar rituals by Royal scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar between 10 am and 2 pm. On October 23 too, tourists are barred from visiting the palace as part of Mahanavami celebration at Palace. On October 24, due to Vijayadashami Procession, there will be no entry for tourists.

Post Dasara celebrations, tourists will not be allowed to visit the palace on November 8 as the golden throne would be dismantled to be kept it in safety.
