Total 766 schools in Mysuru ready to open from August 23: DDPI

Mysuru: Mysuru district is ready to open schools for high school students from August 23 with all Covid safety measures.

Deputy Director of Public Instructions (DDPI) Ramachandraraje Urs told media persons on Saturday “a total of 766 schools are ready to be opened. State government has listed SOP for opening the schools. Those ready- include 232 government schools, 45 social welfare department schools, 134 aided schools and 349 unaided schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas.”
Initially, classes will start for the students of grades nine and 10. There are about 85,125 students and students can come to school without any tension, he said.
To monitor the present condition of schools, a team of nine officers is constituted. We will regularly update Deputy Commissioner about the students attendance. We have completely sanitized each and every classrooms and have strictly instructed not to depute students for any cleaning works.
Students need to bring parents letter of approval to attend classes, but attendance is not mandatory, DDPI clarified.
On Sunday (August 22) Teachers Entrance Test (TET) is also arranged at 31 centers in the district.
In the morning session from 9-30 am to 12 noon 4248 candidates will appear and in the afternoon session 7170 candidates will appear at 14 centres.
The police are also coordinating with the education department to conduct exam in a fo proof manner. Weekend Curfew in Mysuru will not affect TET. Candidates can show the hall ticket to police for free access to the centres, DDPI added.
