To quell tension, Mysuru police demolish Mathrumandali circle island! BSP Corporator among 10 detained by cops

Mysuru: As the two separate groups insisted on installing the statues of Constitution expert Dr B R Ambedkar and poet laureate Kuvempu at Mathrumandali Circle island in V V Mohalla in the city respectively, police demolished the circle structure to avoid any recurring tension on Thursday.
Ten people including BSP Corporator Begum Pallavi who made a bid to stop the demolition were detained by the police.
A police team led by DCP ( Law and Order) Pradeep Gunti razed the circle with the help of an earth moving vehicle, amid police bandobast.
On Wednesday too, both the groups laid their claim on the circle and fixed the portraits and flex of Kuvempu and Dr B R Ambedkar respectively only to rake up the issue triggering tense moments.
