Tigress, three cubs spotted in Nanjangud taluk

Mysuru: A tigress with its three cubs was spotted at Maduvinahalli in Nanjangud taluk in the district on Sunday, triggering panic among the villagers.
The tigers were seen near a water tank opposite the house of one Nataraj, at about 7.30 pm. A youth of the village, employed in Forest Department spotted the tigers and recorded their movement on his cell phone camera.
Following the sighting of tigers, a cage has been kept in the village, to trap them.
The villagers said, Omkar range forest of Bandipur Forest is located nearby. The tigers are suspected to have strayed out of Omkar Forest. But, the mother tiger was frequently roaming around the village for the past one year.
Now, it is spotted with three cubs, which is a cause for concern, the villagers said.
