Three-day elephant survey begins from today

Mysuru: A three-day statewide Elephant survey began from today in Mysuru on Wednesday. As many as 300 staff of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve Forest are taking part in the survey.
The Karnataka Forest Department has organized a comprehensive three-day survey to assess the elephant population across the entire state.
On the first day, the survey will cover fifty per cent of the designated beat areas using the sample Block count method, with data being collected on the spotted elephants.
