THO Nagendra’s death! CM directs Regional Commissioner of Mysuru to probe, file report within 7 days
1 min readBengaluru: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has directed the Regional Commissioner of Mysuru to probe into the death of acting taluk health officer of Nanjangud Dr S R Nagendra. The report should be submitted to the government within seven days.
Nagendra committed suicide at his house in Alanahalli in Mysuru on Thursday allegedly due to pressure related to Covid duties from his higher ups.
The chief minister has issued a set of orders including compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the dependents of the deceased, followed by job on compassionate grounds and speedy settlement of all the facilities the family is entitled to from the government, without any delay.
The chief minister who has also expressed his regrets over the death of Nagendra has prayed the god to give strength to the family to bear his loss.
The chief minister has also requested the government employees on Covid duty not to lose their heart and instead approach their higher ups in case of any duress at work and find out a solution. The government is with you, the chief minister has assured the fraternity.
