The Wipro Bengaluru Marathon on Oct 8

Bengaluru: The Wipro Bengaluru Marathon, a Marque running event that celebrates the spirit of Bengaluru and promotes fitness and healthy lifestyle will be held on October 8. The event is the only matathon tjat takes through the important landmarks of the city concluding at Kanteerava Stadium.

The 10th edition of the ‘City Run’, sponsored by Wipro Limited, is expected to have more than 20,000 participants across all age groups. The marathon will have three categories — the full marathon of 42.195 km, the half marathon of 21.1 km and the 5K Hope Run — certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons).

As an inclusive run, the event will have a special flag off for People with Disabilities empowered by AssisTech Foundation. They will be joined by industry leaders as buddy runners and a team of visually impaired participants supported by guide runners.

Wipro also integrated the 17th edition of its annual Spirit of Wipro’ (SOW) Run with the Bengaluru Marathon. The event will bring together employees and their families to foster a deeper sense of community, collaboration, and connection.

Race Director, Nagaraj Adiga said, “We are very happy to witness such an overwhelming response for the 10th edition of City’s favourite Run. We hope the run continues to grow and become an annual city event”

Celebrated Athlete and Arjuna Awardee, Dr. Reeth Abraham, who has been the Event Ambassador, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by authorities and running communities over the past 10 years

Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, B. Nagendra, Minister For Youth Services & Sports, Govindraj K, President, Karnataka Olympic Association, Dr. Rajender Kataria, Principal Secretary, Horticulture Department, Ashwini Nachappa, Arjuna Awardee & Olympian and Vandana Rao, Arjuna Awardee & Olympian will be the guests of honour.

The event will be flagged off at 4 am from Kanteerava stadium while half marathon will be flagged off at 6 am. The Hope Run will be flagged off at 9 am.
