1 min readMumbai: Ahead of the release of his new film ‘Thank God’ Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has landed in a controversy.
Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Vishvas Sarang has written to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur seeking a ban on the yet to be released film directed by Indrakumar.
The controversy has erupted after the release of the trailer of the movie, that has drawn a flak from Hindu religious leaders for depicting Chitragupta in an inappropriate manner.
Members of Kayastha Samaj representing Sri Chitragupta Committee have lodged a complaint at Nihalghanj police station in Rajasthan.
Apart from Ajay Devgn, producer T-series and others are also booked by the police.
Ajay Devgn plays the role of Chitragupta, but dressed in modern clothes and surrounded by semi-naked women has not gone down well with the religious believers.
The film also stars Siddharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh.
