Telugu actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna dies at 39

Bengaluru: Tollywood actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna passed away at a private hospital in the city on Saturday. He was 39.

Taraka Ratna who had suffered a heart attack while undergoing a padayatra launched by his cousin Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Nara Lokesh at Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh on January 27. He had been admitted to a local hospital, before being shifted to Narayana Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Bengaluru on January 28.

He had undergone angioplasty and several other procedures, with the expert doctors even summoned from USA exclusively for his treatment. However his condition deteriorated, causing his death. 

Taraka Ratna the son of cinematographer Nandamuri Mohana Krishna and grandson of late Chief Minister and Superstar of Telugu cinema late N T Ramarao, had also acted in several films.

He made his debut in K Raghavendra Rao directorial- Okato Number Kurraadu in 2002.

The body has been shifted to Hyderabad amid heavy police security. 

He is survived by his wife Alekhya Reddy, a daughter, uncles former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, cousins Jr NTR and Kalyanram and a host of relatives and friends and a large number of fans.
