techNIEks- 2020 to kick- off from March 5

Mysuru: The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) will host its annual technical and Cultural fest – techNIEks-2020 – from March 5 to 7.

The three-day fest will see engineering graduates from across the nation showcasing their talent in various technical and cultural competitions. Besides, prior to the big fest, a photography contest has been organsied between February 25 and 27, Sangeet Shataranj on Feb 29, Marathon – on autism theme – is on March 1 and Comicon will be held on March 2, said NIE Students Association Dean Arvind M Yadawad at a press meet here on Tuesday.

Aurora 2020 – Day One of techNIEks – 2020

* Battle of Bands at Diamond Jubilee block on March 5


It’s a national-level band competition where student-bands will vie for the best band title with their wide range of music.

* Footloose at Basketball Court on March 5
Footloose, hosted by techNIEk is Mysuru’s biggest platform for street dance battle. For the past four years, the event has carved a niche for itself where talented artistes promote freestyle dance, hip-hop and other genres.

Aurora 2020 – Day Two of techNIEks – 2020  
Day two will showcase events that include Kannada related activities, auction, photography expo, cultural performances including fashion show and split DJ event at Diamond Jubilee block on March 6.

Aurora 2020 – Day Three of techNIEks – 2020

Highlights of the Day Three – on March 7 –  include Ethnic Day, Cultural performances and Electronic Dance Music (EDM).

Post techNIEks events will start from April 2 to April 4 and they include Hackathon, Internship drive and Paper presentation and Robo Wars.

NIE faculty Vanamala said all the events are for students of engineering and graduation across the state and national institutions and expect around 15,000 to 20,000 students.
