Swimming pool and gym at DC’s official residence! RC report confirms ‘violations’ in executing works, says ex- Corporator K V Mallesh

Mysuru: In a significant development related to the controversy over previous Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri building swimming pool and indoor gymnasium at Jalasannidhi the official residence of DC, it has emerged that the works were carried out illegally, without any approvals.
Regional Commissioner who had been directed by the government to probe, has submitted a report concluding that “the works were carried out flouting all the rules and regulations,” stated former Corporator K V Mallesh the complainant in the case.
“Regional commissioner in his report to the state government has observed that the works estimated at Rs 32 lakh were neither approved by the technical committee nor PWD. There is also no prior administrative approval and also work orders issued in this regard. There is also no agreement letter of those who executed the works and also the approval of heritage conservation committee,” stated Mallesh.
It is also observed in the report that as the swimming pool is built in DC’s official residence, there is no access to public, stated Mallesh.
Mallesh who has termed the probe report as ” Victory of Truth” has also clarified that “I am neither in favour or against anybody. I had raised the complaint only for the sake of truth.”
Now that the report is out, Mallesh has urged the government to initiate action against Sindhuri.
