Swamijis want to retain Yediyurappa as CM! Dressed like seers, Vedike plans protest on July 25

Mysuru: As the seers of various mutts in the state prepare for a convention apparently in support of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa at Palace grounds in Bengaluru on Sunday, Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike has decide to stage a protest in the city.

For a change, the protesters led by Vedike President K S Shivaram will be wearing “Khaavi” (ochre worn by Swamijis irrespective of mutts) and stage a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust near Law Courts complex.

Shivaram told media on Saturday “Veerashaiva-Lingayat swamijis do not represent one community. They should keep distance from politics. If they are really interested in politics, they should wear khadi (white and white usually worn by politicians) instead of Khavi,” Shivaram said.

The recent move of Swamijis from various mutts spread over the State has come under severe criticism.

They are vociferously demanding to retain B S Yediyurappa as chief minister, as the BJP high command appears firm on replacing Yediyurappa citing the reason of age.
