Suvarnavati, Chikkahole dams nearing full capacity! Authorities sound alert, want river bank dwellers to shift to safe areas

Chamarajanagar: With Suvarnavati and Chikkahole dams expected to reach its brim anytime due to heavy rainfall in the respective catchment areas, the authorities have sounded alert.
According to a release from the office of executive engineer (Canal division) Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL), the people living on river banks are hereby requested to shift to safe areas.
Following incessant rainfall in the catchment areas of the dams, the storage will increase and expected to reach its maximum level anytime. As a precaution, the farmers, nearby villagers should shift to safer areas and take care of their properties and livestock, the release added.
