Bengaluru: Suttur mutt and JSS Mahavidyapeeth, Mysuru have together contributed Rs 50 lakh towards the chief minister’s calamity relief fund on August 27.
The cheque for the amount was handed over by Suttur Seer Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji to the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa at JSS Educational institutions campus at Jayanagar.
The mutt has already extended temporary relief to the flood affected areas. It has been announced to provide both professional and technical education for free to the students among flood survivors, at JSSMVP. The parents are already contacting the JSSMVP.
The 104th jayanti of previous pontiff of Suttur mutt Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Swamiji has been cancelled and all the institutions of JSSMVP will celebrate in a simple manner.
JSSMVP’s executive secretary Dr C G Betsurmath, secretary S P Manjunath and S Shivakumaraswamy and director ( medical education) R Mahesh were present during the handing over of the cheque to Chief Minister.
