1 min read

Shivamogga: As the news of BJP leader K S Eshwarappa resigning from active politics spread like wildfire, hundreds of his supporters gathered before his residence in Shivamogga protesting his decision, on Tuesday. They shouted slogans and burnt tyres to express their anger over his sudden decision.

Addressing the media at his residence, former BJP MLA K S Eshwarappa said that he has decided to quit active politics after four decades of service and he has already conveyed his decision to BJP president JP Nadda through a letter. He further said that he was not under any pressure and he took this decision on his own. He hoped that the party seniors will consider his decision. Eshwarappa said that he will work as a common party worker and will strive to bring the party to power in the State.

Eshwarappa had reportedly consulted his colleague and party veteran, B S Yediyurappa before taking the decision.

Eshwarappa is the latest leader in the party to quit active politics. Former chief minister B S Yediyurappa, Davangere MLA Ravindranath and Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty have already quit active politics.
