Suicidal tendencies! Clinical psychologist creates awareness among students

Mysuru: Sunny Joseph a clinical psychologist has created awareness against suicide, among the students at Christ College in the city on August 23.

One-day national level workshop on ‘Suicide Prevention: Role of mental health professionals’ had been organised at the college.

Students and teachers who attended the workshop at Christ College in Mysuru.

Joseph advised the students to create awareness by spreading the methods to be adopted to avoid suicidal tendencies, on social media and digital media, during the exclusive session after lunch.

Joseph collected the opinions of students who were divided into 10 groups. In an one to one interaction, students shared their ideas, thoughts and views.

Fr Shanu Verghese of the college ignited the young minds with a thought provoking adage of his own- Look at the goal and kick the ball it will become a goal.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of ‘The Spectora” ( Short film contest) and The Comico ( Comic strip contest).

Mahajana College bagged first prize in Spectora and hosts Christ College bagged second prize.

In Comico, Maharaja’s College won first prize and Mahajana’s second prize.

About 150 students and teachers from various institutions attended the workshop. Fr Suraj K A academic coordinator and Johnson W S, HoD, Psychology were present during the inauguration of the workshop.
