Strict vigil at Karnataka-Kerala border! DC pays surprise visit to Moolehole checkpost

Chamarajanagar: Deputy Commissioner M R Ravi on Thursday paid a surprise visit to  check surveillance measures in place at Moolehole checkpost at Karnataka-Kerala border in the district.

Following the recent cases of Covid in the second wave in neighbouring Kerala, Chamarajanagar district administration has taken strict measures to monitor the movement of incoming vehicles and travellers.

Moolehole checkpost in Gundlupet taluk is  attached to Bandipur National Tiger Reserve that shares border with Karnataka and Kerala. It is one of the major routes connecting Karnataka and Kerala.

Ravi monitored the process of inspecting RTPCR negative report and entering the data in a separate vehicle registry.

DC Ravi instructed the officers not to allow any vehicle of travellers irrespective of general and goods without RTPCR negative report. The details of vehicles and number of persons entering the state and also about those sent back for not carrying negative reports, must be duly recorded.

Later Ravi visited the Gundlupet taluk office and planted a sapling to mark Revenue Day celebration.
