1 min read

Mysuru: A group of youths irrespective of political parties and caste on Monday submitted a memorandum at deputy commissioner’s office and police commissioner’s office urging them to take measures to stop the staging of the play ‘Tippu Nijakanasugalu’ at Bhoomigeetha in Rangayana from November 20.

In a memorandum, it is explained that “a fake propaganda & a book is being released in the name of Tippu sultan shaheed. We would like to bring to the notice of secular public to come forward and stop this book immediately & drama organised by RSS & BJP to destroy the harmony of the city as the election is nearing”.

We will have to work against communal forces & fight for our constitutional rights, the youths stated.

Rangayana Director Addanda C Cariappa, has been giving a clarion call to the people to come and watch the play before speaking on Tipu, as learnt through a section of media.

Cariappa has been issuing derogatory remarks targeting Tipu Sultan and particular community. One cannot expect truth from such persons. It is obvious that they will cook up lies according to their whims.

Moreover it is a matter of regret that the government owned Rangamandira is being used to stage the play targeting a person and community, adds the memorandum.
