Stop misleading people and implement Anna Bhagya as promised: BSY

Shivamogga: While there is no end in sight for the State government’s woes to find rice to be distributed under its ambitious Anna Bhagya scheme, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa was the latest to criticise the Siddaramaiah government for unnecessarily pointing fingers at the Centre.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the BJP veteran condemned the Congress government for unnecessarily creating confusion among the people with regard to implementation of Anna Bhagya scheme. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is already giving 5 kg of rice to the people. But the Centre had not agreed to the State government’s promise to provide an additional quantity of rice – 10 kg – to the poor. Now that the State has made a promise to the people, the onus is on the Congress government to arrange for the additional quantity of rice. Let them purchase from anywhere and provide it to the people,” he said, adding people will not sit quietly even if it’s less than one gram.
He asked the State government not to go on blaming the Centre and reminded that the Centre had never promised the Congress government to give additional quantities of rice. But both Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar are politicising the issue, he added.
