Bengaluru: Karnataka Jala Samrakshana Samithi has threatened to stop Dasara if the State government continues to release Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu.
On Thursday, Karnataka Jala Samrakshana Samithi activists staged a protest at Freedom Park at Bengaluru and urged that state government to immediately stop releasing cauvery river water into Tamil Nadu. They threatened to stop Dasara if the State government ignores their appeal
At Freedom park, activist and Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association head Kurubur Shantakumar said that the State government is afraid of M K Stalin and are only concerned about “benefits” of INDIA Alliance. It’s time the government showed concern towards its own people. “If State government does not stop Cauvery water into Tamil Nadu we will gherao ministers across the state and stop Dasara celebrations,” he threatened.
Cauvery Water Management Authority disparity is visible and we will also take out a delegation to Delhi, Kurubur Shantakumar claimed.
