State universities to offer services online, soon

Mysuru: Soon, provisional degree certificates and migration certificates among other services will be made available online thereby reducing the physical application system.

Karnataka Government e-Governance officer Bagyawan Mudigowda said Deputy Chief Minister and minister for higher education Dr Ashwathnarayan CN has instructed to expand e-governance and e-office system to all the universities in the state. 

He was addressing a gathering at the day-long workshop organised for college lecturers and principals at Senate Bhavan, University of Mysore on Saturday.
 
He further said efforts are on to digitise all universities in the state to provide 49 online services within a month.
 
Currently, universities are providing 15 services through the ‘Seva Sindhu’ and remaining 34 services will be made available in a month.
 
University vice-chancellor Prof G Hemanth Kumar who inaugurated the workshop said that digitisation not only helps students but also eases administrative hassles at the universities.
 
“The university has achieved 30 per cent digitisation so far but we need to work more on this,” he added.
Registrar R Shivappa, College Development Board S Srikantaswamy, Anand and Venkatesh were present.
