State grants nod to CBI to attach Reddy’s properties

1 min read

Bengaluru: The State government has granted its approval to the CBI to attach properties of former minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy.

Interestingly, the State submitted before the court that despite it granting approval to attach properties seven years ago, the premiere investigating agency sat on it. The Court expressed its shock over the seven-year delay by the CBI to act on the government’s approval and attach properties worth Rs 65 cr belonging to Reddy.

“How will the CBI defend its stand for its seven-year delay to attach Reddy’s properties. How can it blame the State government? Why has it not attached Reddy’s properties worth Rs 65 crore all these years? What’s the reason behind it? This is really shocking. Does it happen in all the cases or was it only in this case,” the court questioned.
