State Govt introduces three annual exams for SSLC & PU students

Bengaluru: In a major announcement on Teachers’ Day, School Literacy and Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that the government will introduce a new examination system where SSLC and PU students will have three exams in a year and it will allow them to choose the best score from three annual exams.

Speaking at the Teachers’ Day programme here at Banquet Hall, Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday, the minister said that the department has revamped the examination system to boost confidence among the students.

At present, there are two exam system – annual and supplementary – in the State. But the department is now replacing this with three exam format and as per the new form, in case a student wishes to retake the exam, marks obtained in supplementary exam will be considered final. Also, in case a student secures low marks, the highest marks among the three exam will be considered aggregate and the student will be promoted to the next class. The minister further said that it will be ensured that there is uniformity in question paper content. A clear guidelines will be issued for the new exam system through a circular, he added.
