State budget has nothing worthy to offer for Mysuru: MIA President

Mysuru: Mysore Industries Association (MIA), Metagalli in the city flayed State budget 2023-24 presented by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, as lacklustre.
In a press release President of MIA Vasu also the former MLA has stated that “The budget is nothing but a manifesto to secure vote bank in view of the elections, ignoring industries sector.”
The budget lacks definite plans for industrial development for Mysuru that is considered as biggest industrial sector in South Asia.
Though mentioned in industrial policy, there is no announcement on formation of Mysuru Industrial Township Authority with funds.
There is also no commitment regarding the allocation of State’s share of pending Rs three crore towards Mysuru Export Centre Mysuru.
There is no clarity on funds sanctioned for proposed Kidwai Memorial Hospital in Mysuru.
There is no mention of NIMHANS and Nephrology Hospitals, that has disappointed patients from five districts in this region.
The announcements on skill development for women, loan facilities up to Rs two crore and free power supply for micro textile industries, are all in the interest of vote bank.
The Rs 10 crore announced for setting up International level museum and art gallery doesn’t match the size of the project.
The only solace is Rs 320 crore allocated for expansion works of Mysuru Airport at Mandakalli, added Vasu.
