State BJP chief Nalin Kumar Kateel rubbishes reports of his resignation

1 min read

Bengaluru: Within hours after reports claimed that BJP State President and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has quit his post, Kateel rubbished those reports saying, there is no truth in those reports as he has not resigned.

In a press statement issued here on Saturday, Kateel dismissed those reports claiming his resignation and said that he was just answering to queries on senior leader V Somanna’s aspirations to head the State unit. “I only said that I take the moral responsibility for the State’s humiliating defeat. I have informed the seniors about the reasons for the party’s debacle. I have been heading the State BJP unit for the past four years now and the party will take a suitable decision to appoint a new president when the time is right,” he said in a release.

“I have not said that I have resigned from the State BJP post. My words are being misinterpreted,” he clarified in the release.
