Start-up by Indians wins award in Germany

Mysuru: ‘Smartivate’ a start-up co-founded by two Indians has won the prestigious ‘Smart home Deutschland Award’ for the year 2019 in Germany.

Anand Narasipuram and Jeevan Dasan, a Mysurean have won the award for their start-up, that was shortlisted among top three three nominations out of a large number of contestants from across Germany for the award.

The product is ‘the configurator for the plug and play smart home devices.

The award ceremony was recently hosted by Smart Home Initiative Germany eV a cross industry federal association based in Berlin.

Since 2012, the Association has been recognising the commitment to technological excellence and quality of smart home products of companies, start-ups and student projects across Europe.

‘Smartivate is actively involved in building a web platform as one stop shop for smart home solution. It was launched one-and-a-half years ago with the grant of Government of Germany.

Jeevan Dasan is an alumnus of National Institute of Engineering ( NIE), Mysuru. He is the son of A S Dasan and Nalini Dasan. Dasan is the former chairman of department of English and founder Director of Centre for proficiency development services, University of Mysore and Director Shukrodaya’s Academy for HRD, Alanahalli Layout in the city. Nalini is the associate professor of English and HoD, Teresian College, Mysuru.
