1 min read

Srirangapatna: Tension prevails at Srirangapatna as pro-Hindu activists allegedly made a vain bid to barge into Jamia Masjid in the town on Saturday.

On receiving the information, SP Yathish rushed to spot and made all efforts to control the agitation. Meanwhile, the protesters are chanting bajans outside the Masjid as a mark of protest.

During the recent Sankeertana Yatre at Srirangapatna on December 4, one of the youngsters allegedly cut a green flag atop the house of a person belonging to another faith and installed saffron flag triggering a row and the video went viral.

The pro-Hindu activists alleged that the Srirangapatna police arrested a person in that case, but he is innocent and had no role in changing the flag.
