Gundlupet: A spotted deer stag was fatally hit by a speeding vehicle at the Melkamanahally safari point in Bandipur Tiger Reserve early Tuesday morning around 6 AM.
The Karnataka Forest Department has launched an investigation and is reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle responsible for the incident.
Despite repeated incidents of wildlife being killed by speeding vehicles in Bandipur, there is a continued push by the Kerala government to allow 24/7 traffic through the reserve, raising concerns among conservationists.
