Speaker accepts no-confidence motion against Modi-led govt by Opposition alliance INDIA

New Delhi: In a renewed attempt to corner the Central government especially on the Manipur issue, the alliance of Opposition parties, INDIA submitted no-confidence motion against the Union government to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday.
The Opposition parties have been insisting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak in the Parliament over violence unleashed on the people of Manipur.
Congress’ MP from Manipur Gaurav Gogoi and Nageshwar Rao of Bharat Rashtra Samiti submitted the motion.
On Tuesday, Opposition parties raised slogans in the Parliament demanding PM Modi to speak on Manipur violence when Home Minister requested them to have a discussion. They insisted answers from PM Modi.
The Speaker has accepted the motion and the session was adjourned till 2 pm.
