Sonia Gandhi, Rahul camp at private resort in Kabini backwaters

Mysuru: Following the change in schedule, All India Congress Committee (AICC) interim President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi are camping at a private resort in Kabini backwaters at H D Kote taluk in the district.
The mother and son duo will be resting for two days at the resort.
Earlier, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi had plans to stay at a resort owned by former minister T John’s son in Kodagu.
Sonia Gandhi who arrived in a special flight at Mysuru Airport in Mandakalli, was scheduled to fly in a chopper to Kodagu. However due to inclement weather, the chopper couldn’t take off, prompting the change in plans.
Rahul Gandhi who took two days break from his ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, joined his mother at the resort later.
The high profile leaders were accorded a traditional welcome by drum beating and nadaswara artistes on their arrival.
KPCC President D K Shivakumar, H D Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu and SP R Chetan were present.
