Sombre faced, Yediyurappa yet to find himself happy in CMO!

2 min read

Karnataka: High command, high command and high command.

Till a few years ago, it was only in Congress party, we frequently heard about ‘high command’.

As it is largely felt nowadays, BJP has emerged as a force to reckon with ‘megalomaniac’ attitude leaders, ditto the Congress was till Indira Gandhi called the shots. Amit Shah, a home minister in Gujarat once and now heading the home ministry of the country, has been wielding power, a tightening grip more than Indira.

Yediyurappa who was once known for his belligerent attitude, looks somewhat dented, and the ongoing political developments have added to his present sorry figure status.

Wherever he goes, carries a sombre face and makes news for his ‘so called’ visits. Recent was in Chikkamagaluru and earlier was in his fiefdom Shivamogga, where he hardly stayed for a few minutes, to take a cursory look of vast destruction wreaked by deadly floods that has so far claimed 88 lives and Kodagu has lost over 15 lives.

Amid this natural calamity, political calamity too has hit him hard, with ‘trigger happy’ former chief minister Siddaramaiah, sounding like opposition party leader, firing from every end.

Three deputy chief ministers, Laxman C Savadi’s choice as one among them, ignoring B Sriramulu for DyCM’s post and earning the wrath of Nayaka community who adore Sriramulu and Jarkiholis in equal measure and many more issues that are yet to explode have been shrinking the once roaring Yediyurappa by size.

Is he counting the number of days in office or whay may drop in from “I Command” Amit Shah next.
