Somanna lays foundation stone for three Road Over Bridges in Tumakuru

Tumakuru: In a significant step towards improving the regional railway and road infrastructure, V Somanna, the Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, laid the foundation stones for three Road Over Bridges (ROBs) in lieu of LC 35 at Mydala Gate, LC 38 at Baddihalli Gate, and LC 39 at Batwadi Gate within the Tumakuru region.
This development addresses a long-standing demand from the people of Tumakuru, which has now been fulfilled after years of anticipation.
Somanna emphasised that the construction of these Road Over Bridges would greatly enhance connectivity between key regions. The ROB at LC 39 (Batwadi Gate), which will be built at an estimated cost of Rs 43.37 crore, will connect Kyatsandra and Tumakuru railway stations. The ROB at LC 38 (Baddihalli Gate), at an estimated cost of Rs 26.75 crore, will link Kyatsandra and Tumakuru.
Additionally, the ROB at LC 35 (Mydala Gate), at a cost of Rs 40.65 crore, will facilitate connectivity between Hirehalli and Kyatsandra. These projects are expected to significantly improve the travel experience by providing faster and more efficient transit options for the people of Tumakuru, Hirehalli, and Kyatsandra.
In his address, V Somanna also instructed contractors to ensure the highest quality of construction, without compromising on any aspect of the work, and to complete the projects within the targeted timeline. He also appealed to the public to cooperate during the construction works.
B Jyothi Ganesh, MLA of Tumakuru City, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to V Somanna for sanctioning the redevelopment work at Tumakuru Railway Station and the associated Smart City projects.
B Suresh Gowda, MLA of Tumakuru Rural, thanked the Minister of State for Railways for sanctioning the ROBs in his constituency.
He also appreciated the progress of the Tumakuru-Rayadurga and Chitradurga-Davangere-Tumakuru railway lines and endorsed the proposal to rename Tumakuru Railway Station after Sri Shivakurmara Swamiji.
Somanna informed the gathering that the proposal to rename Tumakuru Railway Station had been forwarded by the state government to the central government, and he expressed his thanks to the state government for its support.
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Construction Ajay Sharma, Chief Engineer Pradeep Puri, Divisional Railway Manager of Bengaluru Division Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Tahsildar of Tumakuru Rajeshwari and other senior railway officials were present.
