SMP foundation shows the way to celebrate Basava Jayanti

Mysuru: Twelfth century reformer Basavanna had always advocated to help the needy and not to look down upon on the downtrodden. True to that the SMP Foundation donated grocery kits to the needy in the City to mark the reformer’s birth anniversary. 

The foundation celebrated the birth anniversary of 12th century social reformer Basavanna in a low key manner at its premises on Akka Mahadevi Road. Considering the hardship faced by some during this lockdown, they decided to provide vegetable kits to the needy. The foundation will also provide 2,500 grocery kits to the needy at Uthanahalli on April 27.
Speaking to Mysoorunews.com, foundation head S M Shivaprakash said that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought indescribable difficulties on poor and deprived. So, the foundation has decided to reach out to those people. The foundation had distributed nearly 2000 food packets, groceries to the needy earlier too. “We have reached around 10,000 families,” he added.
