Six test for mutant Covid-19 in India

Mysuru: A total of six persons, who returned from UK to India, tested with mutant strain of Covid-19, on Tuesday.

In Karnataka, a total of 26 persons tested positive for Covid-19 and three of them tested with mutant strain. All samples were tested in NIMHANS, Bengaluru, said Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

According to the Health Ministry Tuesday, the six patients — three in Bengaluru, two in Hyderabad and one in Pune had recently returned from the UK.
The varian has detected in Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Sweden, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Japan, Lebanon and Singapore.
“All these persons are kept in single room isolation in designated Health Care facilities by respective the State governments. The primary and secondary contacts have been identified and are kept under quarantine,” according to the sources.
