Mysuru: Mysuru Pragnavantha Nagarikara Vedike has urged Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to celebrate Sir M Visvesvaraya’s birth anniversary as a state event.
The Vedike members who met the chief minister on his arrival to inaugurate Dasara in the city also appealed to the chief minister to also install the statue of Sir M V both at the circle on Sayyaji Rao road and the main entrance of KRS dam.
Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha who also seconded the demand said ” It will be a fitting honour to the great personalitywho was the first Kannadiga to be bestowed with Bharat Ratna the highest civilian honour of the country”.
District minister S T Somashekar, MLAs S A Ramadass and L Nagendra, MUDA Chairman H V Rajiv, BJP leaders Ka Pu Siddalingaswamy, Hotel Owners Association president C Narayan Gowda, Mysuru City and District Brahmins Association president D T Prakash, vedike leaders Ajay Shastri, Vikram Iyengar, Rakesh Bhat, Gejjagalli Mahesh and Mahadev Prasad were present.
