Siddu to fight from only one seat

Mysuru: Ending speculations, Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah has clarified that he would be contesting the next Assembly elections due to be held in April next from only one constituency.

Siddaramaiah told media persons “There is a pressure to contest the election from Badami, Varuna and Kolar Assembly constituencies. However, I will be contesting from only of the three seats. Moreover, the party high command will take a call on these matters”.

Following a representation of party workers from Kolar to contest from there, Siddaramaiah had toured the district recently only to assess the situation.

Siddaramaiah who currently represents Badami Assembly constituency in Bagalkot, had earlier represented Varuna constituency. While he contested the previous Assembly elections both from Chamundeshwari and Badami only to lose miserably in the former that was once his strong forte.

While he managed to scrape through in Badami winning by a meagre margin of 1000 and odd votes.
