Siddaramaiah leads massive rally demanding Eshwarappa’s arrest in Mysuru

Mysuru: Opposition leader Siddaramaiah led Congress leaders and workers staged a protest  demanding the arrest of former minister and BJP leader K S Eshwarappa under Prevention of Corruption Act in the wake of allegations of demanding 40 per cent commission.

Hundreds of Congress leaders and workers assembled at Gandhi Square in the city and raised slogans against BJP led State Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government.

Siddaramaiah slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked where is ache din? How did the prices of essentials double? What is the status of promise to double farmers income? Where are the the jobs for youths? asked Siddaramaiah posing a series of questions.

Prime minister said “we won’t allow corruption, but in contrast Contractors Association had written a letter in 2020 alleging 40 per cent commission demand by the MLAs. Why no action was taken?asked Siddaramaiah. You call yourself as chowkidhar, but you are supporting corruption. The present State Government is the most corrupt dispensation ever seen in the history of Karnataka”, said Siddaramaiah.

During the tenure of prime minister Manmohan Singh, 35 % corporate tax was collected, now in Modi regime it has been reduced to 23%. It is only to benefit Ambani and Adani. The country’s loan since 75 years was Rs 52 lakh crore and now after Modi came to power it rose to Rs 152 lakh crore. Who will pay the money? Siddaramaiah asked.

KPCC Working President R Dhruvanarayan alleged that “Mysuru-  Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and MLAs L Nagendra and S A Ramadass are also involved in commission scam.

Karnataka is a hub of IT-BT, but the BJP government and its home minister are of highly communally provocative. They are destroying the communal harmony in our society, Dhruvanarayan alleged.

The rally passed through major thoroughfares and culminated at DC’s office. A memorandum was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gowtham demanding the arrest of K S Eshwarappa.

Former minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, MLA Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Mysuru district rural Congress Committee President Dr B J Vijaykumar and other leaders took part in the rally.
