Mysuru: Siddaramaiah is the chief minister and he will continue to be the chief minister, said District in-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, while replying to questions on alleged power sharing pact between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.

Participating in an interaction with the journalists organised by Mysore District Journalist Association here on Saturday, the minister rubbished Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha’s allegations on ‘adjustment politics’. “Siddaramaiah does not need to do any adjustment in politics. He has lost a couple of elections. If he had done adjustment politics, he may not have lost then,” the minister said and sought to know whether MP Simha was a political authority to believe whatever he claims?

Reacting to the Congress government’s decision to scrap BJP government’s Anti-Conversion Law, minister Mahadevappa said that the citizen of India has his/her right to choose religion of his/her choice and the right has been granted under the Constitution of India. But there is no place for forced conversion, he added.

“Our government will never twist the Constitution and will always work according to the Constitution. When the fundamental rights of the people are affected through the policies of the previous government, the government will decide whether to continue or not with those policies,” he added.

He further said that the children need not learn about twisted history and its leaders, but need to study about the history without the lens of religion and caste.

President of Mysore District Journalist Association S T Ravikumar, Vice-presidents M N Basavanna (Anurag) and Dharmapura Narayan and General Secretary M Subramanya were present.
