Sheep lifters ‘strangle’ shepherd to death; escape with a flock of livestock

Chamarajanagar: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old man who had gone missing was found dead on February 05.

He had been strangled to death at Madapura village. It is suspected to be the handiwork of sheep lifters, as the victim identified as Mahadeve Gowda of Mangala village had set out of his house on February 04, to graze a flock of his sheep.

As he did not return home, family members started to search for him, when they came across his body.

The theives are suspected to have strangled him with his dhoti, before hitting him with stone and lifting the sheeps.

Chamarajanagar police have registered a case and investigation is on.
