Shakthistaavara – 2021! Budding engineers from 22 colleges present 75 projects

Mysuru: Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru had organised a Project Exhibition “Shakthistaavara – 2021 (virtual mode) recently on July 17. 

The chief guests, principal, HODs, faculty members, jury members and student participants from various engineering colleges across India were present on the occasion.

The main objective of “Project Exhibition Shakthistaavara – 2021” is to encourage and provide an opportunity for students to orient themselves to specific focussed areas of interest which helps in developing inter and intra personal skills.

The Project exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and implementation as a prototype. This event was sponsored by  ISLE- Karnataka State Center.

The event started with inaugural function with an  invocation song by Sheetal N, student of 6th semester E&E Engineering.

Akhila, student of 6th semester E&E Engineering delivered the welcome speech.

Dr P S Puttaswamy, Professor & HOD, Electrical & Electronics Engineering briefed about the importance and the expected impact of Project Exhibition.

The Master of Ceremony was Tinu Tom, a student of 6th semester E&E Engineering.

Rama Venugopal, Secretary, Executive Director, M/s Value Added Corporate Services Private Ltd appreciated the initiative taken by institute & E&E Engineering department.

She has expressed that such events are helpful for students to exhibit technical skills and explore towards technocratic developments of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Rama Venugopal also stressed upon the onversion of academic projects/ prototype models developed in to a useful product.

This is possible by grooming with entrepreneurship skills among students. She expressed her happiness towards innovative initiatives, encouragement, ideation being carried out by GSSSIETW, Mysuru.

Sathyendra M G, Managing committee member, Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE), highlighted upon the need and importance of lighting society and its relevance in improving social life.

He appreciated the efforts put forth by ISLE student chapter of GSSSIETW, Mysuru.

He opined that, through such events, there is a lot of scope for the students to upgrade with the skills which are very  much essential  for industries with key focus on individual and team work.

The presentations were done by the students as a part of Project Exhibition based on their project work carried out.

The students from 22 engineering colleges  participated in this event, total of 75 project presentations were made in six different tracks.

Dr Manjudevi, Professor and Head of the department of ECE, The Oxford College of Engineering, Bengaluru, Dr S Kotresh, Professor and Head of the department of EEE, RYMEC, Ballari, Sathyendra M G of ISLE, Dr. Likith Kumar M V, Associate Professor, NIE, Mysuru, Dr Sandeep, Associate Professor, SJBIT, Bengaluru and Dr Mohan, Assistant Professor, JSS STU, Mysuru were the jury members for this event.

The session concluded with the distribution of merit and participation certificates.  

Among them “Smart service for agriculturist using IOT and prediction of crop yield using machine learning” by the students of GSSSIETW, Mysuru, “DTMF controlled robot using Arduino” by the students of GSSSIETW, Mysuru, “Green initiative low cost e-vehicle” by the students of Vidya Vardhaka college of Engineering, Mysuru, “Implementing Light Fidelity for managing COVID 19 patients and hospital staffs”, by the students of Jnanavikas Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, “Smart PPE kit for healthcare workers, by the students of ATME, Mysuru and “Portable solar-powered charger for electric vehicles” by the students of JSS STU, Mysuru were nominated and awarded as best projects.

Dr M Jagannatha Shenoi, President GSSS(R), Secretary Vanaja B Pandit,  R K Bharath, Managing Committee member and CEO, GSSS(R), Anupama B Pandit Administrative officer and Dr M Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru appreciated the efforts put forth by Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department and conveyed their best wishes for the success of project exhibition.
