Seven member gang of coconut thieves arrested! Three test Covid positive

Mysuru: Saligrama police busted a gang that was involved in stealing coconut from the farms in K R Nagar taluk for the past several years.

The policemen arrested seven people on theft charges and solved five cases, seizing Rs 60,000, recovering coconuts worth Rs 45,000 and tobacco worth Rs 35,000 from them.
Of the accused, three have tested Covid positive.
They are identified as- Pradeep, Somashekar, Raju, Prajwal, Mahadev, Yogesh and Abhi from K R Nagar in Mysuru district and Holenarsipur taluk in Hassan district.
They had lifted coconut that had been stocked after harvest, at the farms owned by Nagesh and Vidyasri in Mirle village, Narasimhe Gowda of Saligrama, Ganesh of Old Mirle and Rajaiah of Bherya.
Two goods autos used to transport the booty are also seized from them.
The police team that cracked the cases included CPI P K Raju, SIs Arati ( Saligrama) and Chetan ( K R Nagar), ASIs Hemanth Kumar and Somanna and others.
