Senior hotelier Nagaraj Dhanya dies in rain related tragedy

Bengaluru: Senior hotelier B S Nagaraj Dhanya was killed in a road accident on Monday early hours. He was 65.

According to sources, Nagaraj was riding his two-wheeler towards his hotel- Vadiraja Coffee Bar at Jayanagar at about 4.30 am, when he met with the accident.

Following heavy rains that lashed the city on Sunday, trees had uprooted in several parts of the city. Nagaraj who rammed his scooter to one such fallen tree in the middle of the road, fell off and sustained severe injuries. He died on the way to the hospital, according to C Narayan Gowda, President of Hotel Owners Association, Mysuru.

Nagaraj who was known for his organisational skills had served as the secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Hotel and Restaurants Association (KPHRA) and BBHA, director of Bengaluru Hoteliers Cooperative Society and several other organisations.

An ardent devotee of Sodhe mutt, Nagaraj was the trustee of Krishna Vadiraja Trust.
